Two Two Train Party

Posted by sara pereira on Friday, April 17, 2015, In : Birthday Parties

Someone Just Turned Two Two! And he is a big fan of trains and Elmo, so here is how we combined the two!

We put together a party  for just a few close friends!
A delicious Thomas the Train Cake was the main engine pulling the carts full of delicious fruit and bagels.
The cake was apple spice with walnuts and raisins and filled with vanilla buttercream.

The cookies came from our favorite Cookie Master- The Cookie Lab. They replicated the plate onto one giant cookie and then made smaller cookies as...

Unconventional First Communion Cake

Posted by sara pereira on Sunday, April 27, 2014, In : Cake

At Stardust Cakes we've done our fair share of First Communion Cakes: ranging from Bibles to loaves of bread and grapes. We were very excited, to receive a request for an unconventional approach to this cake.
Since the celebrant loves Barbies, and we've done a couple of Barbie cakes for her along the years, we made her a Barbie doll cake for her Communion cake. The doll's dress mimicked her own dress, with a few extra flowers for added complexity.

First Birthday with Spot

Posted by sara pereira on Monday, April 7, 2014, In : Birthday Parties

Some one very special just celebrated his very first birthday, and because he loves his puppy so much, the theme of the party was Spot the dog. The cake was a super healthified carrot cake with a white chocolate cream cheese frosting. The toppers were the baby boy and his dog made out of sugar.

The party had a lot of details. A full spread, personalized cookie jars and glass bottles. And the big hit of th party was the entertainment, a ball pit for babies and toddlers. What fun!

Smash Cake

Posted by sara pereira on Monday, December 9, 2013, In : Cake

We love first birthdays! Not only does it mark the beginning of a new Birthday Party Era, but it also brings about smash cakes.  A relatively new concept that parents love, just for photography's sake: the Smash Cake.
What is it? Well, it's a cake that you smash, duh.. But it is so much more than that. It is probably a baby's first time ever to dig in to cake, a real first sugary treat. The concept is that for the guests there is a large celebratory and themed cake, sometimes some small cupcak...

Posted by sara on Monday, April 9, 2012, In : Themed Parties

The much awaited party is finally here... Penny turned two and here is how she celebrated it!

Since I don’t have any children, I throw parties for my kitten and my puppy. This year, my Kitten Penny turned two and my husband and I thought what better party to host than a Paris-themed party. Penny loves to be pampered and has this insane obsession with cake batter and roses. (a Kitten Marie Antoinette we thought.)

We decided to do a French dessert exposé and have everything be pink, ...

We just had a fabulous weekend filled with 1st birthday fun!

First we took a tour of Paris, and then a whimsical ride down Dr Seuss Lane.

Our Parisian themed party was pretty in pink and full of treats that Marie Antoinette herself would approve of!

The first eye grabber when entering the room was the gorgeous dessert buffet table. We had cupcakes, macarons, cupcakes in a jar, cake pops, cookies, religieuses, and woopee pies, all in the shades of pink and white.

We ...
